New Feature: Filtering posts by hashtags

We’ve added a new feature to teamspir.it - a really useful one in fact: All users are now able to include hashtags (keywords - known from twitter - with a leading “#”, e. g. #exampleHashtag) in their posts. These are automatically recognized and linked on saving. By clicking these links, the list of posts can easily be filtered: Only the ones containing the selected hashtag will be displayed. Even better: A complete list of all tags within the current teamspir.it-Log makes it possible to combine multiple tags for advanced filtering.

We’re convinced that this simple feature makes far more sense than any other complex grouping and search solution. This view is encouraged by the feedback of the first teamspir.it users. So we’ll definitely stay on track keeping things simple!

You think we could make it even more simple? As always: Please leave a comment or drop us a line! ;-)

Update: Reminder Mails and Day Selection for Status Update Mails
I’ve mentioned it already in my last post: Today we’ve released a new version of teamspir.it including a new feature: reminder mails. From now on we’ll send short messages to the teamspir.it users to remind them of writing posts in their Logs as frequently as possible. (Regular writing is the key to more productivity, motivation and happiness. I can’t repeat this often enough! ;-) )
These messages are enabled for all current users by default on a daily base. The frequency can be switched to weekly in the user profile. Of course, it’s also possible to disable the reminders completely. Please note the option to select a specific day of the week (for weekly reminders). This option is now available for the status update mails, too.

In the first weeks after the official launch of teamspir.it, we were already lucky to receive some very valuable user feedback. While we’ve implemented some smaller updates, we’re now thinking about the next enhancements.

The first extension will be a “reminder mail" the users can receive on a daily or weekly base. This shall support the habit of "regular writing", which is - I mentioned it already - the key to a successful use of teamspir.it. The new option will be available by next week. Of course, the reminder mails can also be disabled, because the last thing we want is to bug our users with unsolicited mails! :-)

The next enhancement (already in development) is a super-simple categorization and filter solution based on hashtags.

We’re also evaluating a lot of other ideas for interesting new features, but we’ll take care that only really useful ones will find their way into the system. Otherwise, teamspir.it would be far too complicated soon… no way!

What about you? Do you use teamspir.it and do you have ideas how to make it better? Please leave a comment here or on our Facebook page. Thanks!

Cheers,

Carsten
